1The drive from Jaipur on the Agra highway
Mehandipur Balaji is about 100 km east of Jaipur, around 2 to 2.5 hours by car. The route follows the Jaipur–Agra highway through Dausa, a wide four-lane road with tolls, then turns off for the last short stretch to the temple town. The road is good all year, but the lanes near the temple are narrow and crowded, so the car parks a short walk from the temple.

2Mehandipur Balaji darshan timings
The temple opens early in the morning and stays open until the evening, roughly from 6 or 7 am to 8:30 or 9 pm, with aarti times that shift between summer and winter. Timings aren't published in one official place and change on festival days, so ask locally or call ahead. Tuesdays and Saturdays, Hanuman's days, are the most crowded, as is Hanuman Jayanti. On a weekday morning, darshan can take under an hour.

3Rules most devotees follow
Mehandipur Balaji is known for its healing rituals, and it has customs worth knowing before you go. Most devotees don't eat or drink inside the temple, don't take prasad or food home from the town, and don't accept prasad from strangers. Dress modestly, and don't take photos inside. Many people also follow the custom of not looking back as they leave. Leave valuables in the car, as the queues are tightly packed.

4A same-day plan from Jaipur
Leave Jaipur at 6 am to reach Mehandipur by about 8:30. Allow two to three hours for darshan at Balaji, Pretraj Sarkar and Bhairav Baba, and longer on a Tuesday or Saturday. Start back around 1 pm. The Chand Baori stepwell at Abhaneri is a short detour off the same highway, so you can see it on the way home and still be back in Jaipur by 6 pm.

5Jaipur to Mehandipur Balaji taxi cost
Our Mehandipur Balaji day trip starts from ₹2,800 for a small car with driver, round trip, as an estimate. An Ertiga for six works out at about ₹3,650 to ₹4,200, and an Innova Crysta at about ₹4,300 to ₹5,000. Fuel, tolls, parking and the driver's allowance are in the fare, and we agree the final number on WhatsApp before you book, so nothing is asked in cash at the end.
