1What each one costs

A self-drive hatchback or sedan in Jaipur usually costs about ₹1,000 to ₹3,000 a day on the rental apps, plus fuel, a security deposit and sometimes a cap on the km. A sedan with a driver for a full day of Jaipur sightseeing (8 hours, 80 km) starts from ₹2,000 with us, and a half day from ₹1,500. For a day in the city, the difference is often small. We confirm the final fare on WhatsApp before you book.

2Deposits, damage and fuel

Self-drive rentals take a refundable deposit and hold you responsible for scratches and damage, so check the car carefully and photograph it before you leave. You also return it with the fuel you got. With a car and driver there is no deposit, and the car is our responsibility from pickup to drop.

3Parking at the forts and the old city

Amber Fort and Nahargarh sit on hills with narrow roads, and the parking near the gates fills early in season. The old city's bazaars are crowded lanes with one-way streets. With a driver, you get out at the gate, and the driver parks and waits for you.

4Traffic rules and checks

Jaipur's one-way streets, slip lanes and busy junctions are easy to get wrong if you don't know them, and out-of-town cars are often stopped at checks. If you drive yourself, carry the car's papers, its pollution certificate and your licence, and ask for a receipt for any fine. A local driver knows the roads and the rules, and the car's papers are his job.

5When self-drive makes sense

If you're used to Indian traffic and want to drive yourself, self-drive can work well. For a first visit, a sightseeing day, or a long road trip where you'd rather look out of the window, a car and driver is usually the easier choice, and close in price. Send us your plan on WhatsApp and we'll quote a half day, a full day or the whole trip.
